FON [+] is the official service app of the Ministry of Finance and offers the following features:

• News
• Personalized appointments (tax deadlines for entrepreneurs, family allowance payout dates, etc.)
• Calculators (e.g., gross-net calculator)
• Customs section with information on duty-free amounts, exemptions, online shopping, relocations, and vehicles
• Tax office search
• Tax return

This tax return service is a special feature for individuals with income as employees, workers, or retirees. Tax-relevant expenses such as work-related expenses or extraordinary burdens can be easily, electronically, and effectively recorded. The recording process is intuitive and intelligently designed to facilitate the entry of receipts. Users can choose from a variety of different recording categories. In the background, the recording categories are automatically assigned to the correct figures for work-related expenses, extraordinary burdens, and special expenses. This allows for a quick preparation of the annual employee assessment (tax return). The direct, secure connection to the tax authorities is available directly from the app. In FinanzOnline [+], most of the L1-, L1k-, and L1ab-figures can be determined directly. This L1-Light employee assessment can also be submitted electronically directly from FinanzOnline [+]. Alternatively, there is also the option to transmit the figures determined in FinanzOnline [+] to FinanzOnline to complete the employee assessment there.

In the app's customs section, you will find important information and tips for entry into Austria. You can quickly and easily find answers to common questions about customs such as duty-free allowances and quantities etc. Since this part of the app also works in offline mode, it can be used abroad without internet access.

To log in to FinanzOnline [+] as an authenticated user, the Digital Office app is required. Login is necessary for some functions such as querying personal data or submitting an employee assessment. However, most functions of FinanzOnline [+] can be used without logging in.
